Payroll Schedules

The Westborough School Department processes payroll on a weekly basis.  The first scheduled payroll for a school year is the 1st or 2nd Thursday in September (dependent on where the current pay cycle falls).   Please scroll down to view various schedules.

Teachers' Salary Schedule Options:

Teachers have two salary payment schedule options:

  1. 21-Week Option: The annual salary is divided over 21 pay periods with no additional 'lump sum' issued in June.
  2. 26-Week Standard Option:  The annual salary is divided over 26 pay periods.  Teachers will receive 21 paychecks September - June, with an additional 'lump sum' check issued in June representing the additional 5 pay periods.

Teachers who desire to change their payment option must notify the Superintendent by August 1st.  If no option is selected, payment shall be made under option b.

 Paraeducators Pay Schedule:

All Paraeducators are hourly employees paid for 184 work days per school year and are paid over 21 or 26 pay periods during the school year.

In order that Paraeducators receive consistent weekly gross paychecks throughout the school year (even while school is out on vacation breaks), the total of scheduled annual hours is spread over the 21 or 26 pay periods.

Secretarial (42-Wk, 44-Wk, 52-WK) Pay Schedule:

In order that secretaries receive consistent weekly gross paychecks throughout the school year (even while school is out on vacation breaks), weekly hours are paid as follows:

42-Week Secretaries: 197 days x 6.5 hours/day ÷ 21 weeks = 60.98 hours/week.
44-Week Secretaries: 207 days x 7.5 hours/day ÷ 22 weeks = 70.57 hours/week.
52-Week Secretaries:  260 days x 7.5 hours/week ÷ 26 weeks = 75 hours/week.

 

Custodial Pay Schedule:

Employees in the above positions are paid weekly for actual hours from the previous pay period (Friday-Thursday).

School Lunch Pay Schedule:

All school lunch employees are hourly employees paid for 184 work days per school year and are paid over 21 or 26 pay periods during the school year.

In order that school lunch employees receive consistent weekly gross paychecks throughout the school year (even while school is out on vacation breaks), the total of scheduled annual hours is spread over the 21 or 26 pay periods.

Substitute Teacher Pay Schedule:

All substitutes are paid on a weekly basis.  The pay rate is: $85/Day

 

The pay period starts on the Monday of one week and ends on the Friday after two weeks. It is processed on the Monday following the payroll period end date and pay advices are emailed on the Tuesday. 

 Note:   Long-Term substitues will be placed on a regular bi-weekly pay schedule of 26 pays if they have a full year contract.
