Welcome to our Technology Website.  This website is where you can come to find our policy and procedures documents, answers to frequently asked questions, information about our technology curriculum, updates on school specific initiatives and much more.  

Our Technology Strategic Planning Committee developed the following mission statement for the use of technology in our classrooms:

Technology Need to Know For Parents


POWERSCHOOL:

  • Parents and students can look at schedules, register for classes, find out locker information and track grades progress by logging into PowerSchool. To check Report Cards along with the Grades and Attendance option at the middle and high schools, follow the linked instructions.

  • New to the District? Create a PowerSchool account first. Instructions

  • At the start of each school year, or when important information changes, we request that parents sign into PowerSchool to make these changes. Link to the PowerSchool web portal for parents and students.  Instructions are listed on the sign in page.

  • Directions for installing the PowerSchool Mobile App. The District Code for launching the PowerSchool Mobile App is GPHS

  PARENTSQUARE:

ParentSquare is a school-to-home communications platform.  Information such as important events, registrations and deadlines, emergency messages and school closures will be shared. 

Through ParentSquare you will be able to:


  • Receive all communications from the district and schools in one centralized place

  • Track school and district news, activities and events

  • Choose your preferred mode of communication (text, email, app)

  • Choose to receive messages immediately or all at once at 6PM

  • Choose your preferred language (with improved translation features)

  • Use a family-friendly app with all of this information

ARBITER: (FORMERLY FAMILY ID)


Families use this web portal to register and pay for any middle and high school sponsored  activities, clubs or athletic teams your students participate in.  Families will receive a direct email communication from the Athletic Director, the Fine Arts Director, or the Club and Activities Coordinator

WESTBOROUGH PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS ONE TO ONE!

  • PreK-6 - Students in grades PreK-6 have access to a district-owned iPad for their use

  • Grades 7-9 - Students in grades 7-9 have access to a district-owned chromebook for their exclusive use.

  • Grades 10-12 - Students in grades 10-12 are expected to bring a suitable family-owned device that is dedicated to their exclusive use. 

  • Families experiencing financial difficulties/hardships in purchasing a computer device in grades 10 -12, are asked to contact [email protected].  

  • Parents are responsible for purchasing headphones for their students in grades PreK-12

GOOGLE APPS FOR EDUCATION 


For our students' core productivity suite of tools, the district uses Google Apps for Education. This includes Google Drive, Google Classroom, Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.  Google Classroom is our main Learning Management System in grades 4-12.  Parents cannot have their own logins to the system.  However, they can look on as students access their online classrooms or receive guardian summaries IF the teacher has enabled them. 

 

 

 

 

SEESAW

Teachers in grades PreK - 3 may use Seesaw to share activities, assignments or display student work. After downloading the App or logging in on the website, parents can see student work that is posted by the teacher. PreK - 3 student iPads remain at school each day. Parents will be sent a link with instructions on how to join by the classroom teacher.

WHERE’S MY KID - BUS TRACKING APP


Where's My Kid is a peace-of-mind GPS bus tracker designed to keep you updated on your child’s progress traveling to and from school. Any delays or changes to schedules will trigger a notification sent directly to your phone, instantly updating you with any new information. Notifications of arrival at school and arrival back home can also be set up to ensure you always know your child’s location.
